The protest by surrendered insurgent groups in Tripura’s West District continued despite an appeal by District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar to withdraw the blockade. Although the administration requested the protesters to call off their agitation, rail tracks and national highways remained blocked at three key locations across the state.

Road and rail services have been disrupted as the 72-hour blockade, announced in support of 11 demands, continued. With vehicles and passengers stranded in several areas, commuters and the general public have been facing severe hardship.

Discussions were held with the protesters in the presence of the District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrates and police officials, but no solution has been reached so far. The continued blockade despite the administration’s appeal has raised concerns over the situation. Attention is now focused on the steps the administration will take in the coming hours and whether the protesters will withdraw the blockade.
