Biplab Kumar Deb Welcomed in Agartala as New BJP National General Secretary, CM Manik Saha Extends Greetings

Former Tripura Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, who has recently been appointed as a national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was accorded a warm welcome in Agartala on Sunday following his return to the state in his new organisational role.

A felicitation and greetings programme was organised at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala to welcome Deb and congratulate him on his appointment to the BJP's national leadership. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, BJP Tripura Pradesh president Abhishek Debroy, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, most of the ministers, legislators, senior party leaders and a large number of party workers and supporters attended the programme.

The appointment of Biplab Kumar Deb to the BJP's national organisational leadership was described by party leaders as an important responsibility and a recognition of his political and organisational experience. Leaders at the programme expressed confidence that he would contribute to further strengthening the BJP's organisational network under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Earlier in the day, Deb received a warm welcome at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.

BJP State President Abhishek Debroy, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Minister Tinku Roy, Sushanta Chowdhury and a large number of BJP workers and supporters were present at the airport to greet the newly appointed national general secretary. The enthusiastic reception reflected the support extended to Deb by party workers in his home state.

Expressing his gratitude for the spontaneous welcome, Deb thanked party workers and supporters for their affection and enthusiasm. He also participated in the evening felicitation programme at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, where senior BJP leaders and elected representatives gathered to extend their greetings on his new assignment.

During the programme, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha congratulated Deb on his appointment and conveyed his best wishes for his new responsibility. BJP state president Abhishek Debroy and other senior leaders also joined the felicitation and expressed their confidence in Deb's ability to discharge the responsibilities entrusted to him at the national level.

The leaders highlighted the BJP's expanding organisational strength and said that the party was becoming increasingly strong and well-organised under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They expressed the belief that Deb, guided by the Prime Minister's leadership and vision, would successfully fulfil his new responsibilities and play a role in strengthening the party organisation further.

The appointment has also generated considerable enthusiasm among BJP workers in Tripura, where Deb remains a prominent political figure. His return to the state in his new national organisational capacity provided an occasion for party workers and leaders to publicly congratulate him and reaffirm their support.
