Tripura’s Cultural Touch at Rashtrapati Bhavan During Rakhi Bandhan Celebrations

On the auspicious occasion of ‘Rakhsha Bandhan’, four young students from Tripura had the special opportunity to meet President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi and celebrate the festival of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ with her.

The four students — Meheresia Sarkar, Pratik Sarkar, Rike Deb and Amit Kumar Sarkar — from Netaji Nagar English Medium SB School in West Tripura district, participated in the special meeting. The Tripura delegation was led by Abhijit Samajpati, OSD of the Directorate of School Education. Teachers Biswajit Bhowmik and Biplab Deb also accompanied them.

The students tied rakhis on the wrist of President Droupadi Murmu and conveyed their heartfelt Raksha Bandhan greetings. As a symbol of Tripura’s rich heritage and culture, they presented the President with a special gift representing Mata Tripureswari Temple, along with a traditional Risha.

The students also gifted the President handmade ‘rakhis’ and greeting cards prepared by them. Their simplicity, creativity and affection made the interaction at Rashtrapati Bhavan an especially memorable and emotional occasion.

The young students expressed their pride at having the opportunity not only to share the joy of Raksha Bandhan with the President of India but also to showcase the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Tripura at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The special celebration carried the message of love, harmony, unity and mutual bonding, making the occasion a proud and memorable chapter for Tripura.
