Young Woman Dies After Falling from Water Tank Near Old Raj Bhavan in Agartala, Love Relationship Angle Under Probe

A mysterious death of a young woman near the old Raj Bhavan Water Plant premises at Kunjaban in Agartala has triggered concern and speculation, with investigators examining whether her death was linked to a troubled love relationship or whether any other circumstances were involved.

The incident occurred in a highly sensitive and well-secured area of the state capital. According to preliminary information, the young woman allegedly fell from the top of an elevated water tank located at Kunjaban near and backsides of the old Raj Bhavan Water Plant complex. She sustained critical injuries and died before she could be saved.

The deceased has been identified as Chitrangada Hazari, daughter of Gopinath Hazari. She was reportedly a resident of the Laxminarayan bari area of Agartala.

After receiving information about the incident, personnel from NCC Police Station reached the spot. An attempt was reportedly made to take the injured woman for medical treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries.

Given the sensitive nature of the location and the circumstances surrounding the death, police immediately began examining the scene and collecting evidence. A police team led by SDPO Subrata Barman, along with other officers, visited the premises and conducted a preliminary investigation.

Police subsequently recovered two mobile phones and a pair of shoes reportedly belonging to the deceased from the scene. Investigators are expected to examine the mobile phones, including call records, WhatsApp conversations, messages and social-media activity, in an effort to establish what happened in the moments and hours preceding her death.

One of the important aspects being examined is whether the young woman was involved in a love relationship that may have had any connection with the incident. However, police have not yet officially established that the death was caused by a relationship-related dispute, and no conclusion has been reached regarding whether the death was accidental, suicidal or connected with any possible criminal act.

The location itself has also raised questions.
