The Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) has sought inquiry reports from the Director of Secondary Education and the Managing Committee of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial H.S. School in Agartala over alleged irregularities in the implementation of the PM POSHAN scheme.
The Commission registered Complaint No. 95 of 2026 following a complaint by school teacher Uttam Majumder against Assistant Headmaster Titu Saha.
Majumder alleged poor quality and hygiene of meals and claimed that key records related to the scheme were not handed over to him after he took charge as MDM in-charge in December 2025.
He also alleged irregularities in the handling of scheme funds and sought verification of bank accounts, PFMS transactions, expenditure records, bills, vouchers and supplier details. Allegations were also raised over the collection of examination and other fees from students beyond prescribed rates.
Majumder further alleged that he was removed from the MDM responsibility after raising the concerns and subsequently faced false allegations.
The Commission, headed by Chairperson Justice Arindam Lodh, said the complaint contained serious allegations concerning the interests of students. It directed the Director of Secondary Education and the school Managing Committee to conduct inquiries and submit reports.
The case has been listed for consideration after 15 days.
