BJP-Tipra Motha clash sparks tension in Dataram

Tension prevailed in Dataram under the Matarbari Assembly constituency on Tuesday evening following a confrontation between supporters of the BJP and Tipra Motha Party during a protest rally.

According to sources, the situation turned tense after Tipra Motha supporters allegedly raised objectionable slogans near the BJP office. BJP leaders, however, alleged that some Tipra Motha supporters used objectionable language while passing the party office.

Police from the Garji outpost reached the spot and intervened to disperse both groups. Additional personnel were deployed in the area to prevent any further escalation.
