13-Year-Old Tripura Artist Rituraj Bhowmik Enters India Book of Records with Unique Pistachio Shell Paintings

Agartala’s young artist, Rituraj Bhowmik, has made Tripura proud by securing a place in the India Book of Records for his extraordinary artwork on pistachio shells. The 13-year-old, son of Rahul Bhowmik and Sharmistha Deb Roy from Joynagar, is a student of Holy Cross School and has been passionate about art from an early age.

Rituraj has previously participated in various national and international competitions, including Japan’s Picasso Art Contest and ISRO’s drawing competitions, achieving remarkable success. Inspired by his art teacher, Jaydeep Bhattacharya, he began experimenting with miniature paintings on pistachio shells in the sixth grade.

After two years of dedication, he has created 101 animal-themed paintings on pistachio shells, a unique feat that earned him recognition in the India Book of Records. His achievement has filled his family and well-wishers with immense pride.
