In a bizarre incident which , of course, has become the new normal in current ‘Ek Tripura , Shreshtha Tripura’, the head mistress and an assistant teacher of Pratapgarh English medium school (Rishipara) have been transferred to Gandacherra and Amarpur respectively for the cardinal offence of accepting money from the MLAs local area development fund in the interest of the school. The money sanctioned by the young Pratapgarh MLA Ramu Das helped the school authority to procure benches for students , tables and chairs for teachers . This was objected to by the local BJP leaders who found an offence in this on the part of the headmistress and teachers.

Sources from the Pratapgarh (Rishipara) area said that , having the seen the poor condition in the matter of existing infrastructure of the school, Ramu Das had sanctioned funds for procurement of benches for students and tables and chairs and tables for teachers along with other essential facilities like repairing of toilets etc. The school authority including the head mistress Chameli Koloi and teacher in charge Anupam Shil and the local people rejoiced over this and expressed thanks and gratitude to MLA Ramu Das.

But the local BJP leadership including ‘Mandal’ functionaries got spooked by this and visited the school and showered abuses on the head mistress as well as on other teachers for accepting funds from MLA Ramu Das. They also verbally put a blanket ban on taking any help from CPI (M) MLA Ramu Das and also on inviting him to any occasion or function in the school. Not stopping at that the local BJP leadership allegedly started lobbying for the transfer of head mistress Chameli Koloi and teacher in charge Anupam Shil for their suspected proximity to the CPI (M).

As a result head mistress Chameli Koloi has been transferred to Gandacherra while Anupam Shil has been transferred to Amarpur recently. The students and their guardians expressed their shock and dismay over the two transfers , saying both Chameli Madam and Anupam Sir had done a lot for the school and its students.
