A shocking incident unfolded in broad daylight at the election section of the Udaipur Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s (SDM) office, where a liquor party was reportedly in full swing. As journalists captured the scene on their cameras, the office staff fled the spot immediately.
When questioned about the matter, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Tridib Sarkar stated that he had directed the Additional SDM to conduct an inquiry. He assured that if the investigation confirmed that a liquor party was indeed held inside the SDM office, strict action would be taken against those involved. However, initial reports suggest that those participating in the liquor party were not SDM office staff. Many of them were teachers and officials deputed to the election section.
Meanwhile, the district administration has recently decided to ban the sale of liquor near the Tripureshwari Temple. Additionally, Minister Pranajit Singha Roy announced today that non-vegetarian food would no longer be allowed for sale in hotels near the temple premises. The government is expected to officially declare this decision soon.
