CM visits Bardowali HS (+2) school, takes information about the school infrastructure and teachers strength

The chief minister Dr Manik Saha today paid an extended visit to the Bardowali HS (+2) school, one of the oldest schools of Agartala launched in the year 1950 which lies in his Town Bardowali assembly constituency. In the course of his visit , accompanied by the AMC corporator of Ward no-40 Sampa Sarkar Chowdhury, her husband and school managing committee secretary Jayanta Chowdhury and other local BJP personages, the chief minister had a clear view of the nooks and corners of the school and the condition of its infrastructure. He also spoke to the headmistress in charge Tutu Banik, teachers of the school and other members of the managing committee.

He was briefed in detail about the present condition of the school and state of its infrastructure and teachers strength by the head mistress and members of the school managing committee (SMC) and assured them that the shortage of teachers in the school will soon be neutralized as fresh recruitments will be made. The chief minister also inspected the school ground which is currently being misused by a section of people as a parking place and also as a market on the edge of it . Dr Saha said that the state government has already sanctioned Rs 46 lakhs for pucca fencing around the school as also for development of the ground as a play field for students. He assured the school staff as well as members of the managing committee of full government support for further development of the school.

The chief minister’s visit to the school assumed significance in view the recent demise of the SMS president and leading cultural personality Manik Datta whose death has left a void. However the people of the locality as well as guardians of students expressed satisfaction over the chief minister’s visit and the assurances he gave for development of the school.
