In a tragic incident, a new mother lost her life on way to GB Pant hospital Agartala due to an alleged act of medical negligence at Khowai District hospital. The health complications reportedly arose during the cesarean section procedure at the hospital.

Her family accused the hospital's gynecologist, Dr. Arghamallya Debbarma, of medical negligence leading to her death.

According to the victim’s family, Anima Tati was admitted to Khowai District Hospital on December 7 due to complications during pregnancy.

On the same day, Dr. Arghamallya Debbarma performed a C-section, and she delivered a baby boy. However, post-surgery, Anima Tati started experiencing severe health complications.

Her family claims that she was unable to pass urine after the operation.

Soon after, Dr. Debbarma advised the family to shift her to GB Hospital in Agartala for advanced medical care.

Upon arrival at GB Pant hospital Anima Tati was diagnosed with a serious medical condition related to her kidneys. Her kidneys reportedly stopped functioning properly and hence she was advised to undergo dialysis.

She underwent a total of 34 dialysis sessions. Her family alleges that the complications arose due to an error made during the C-section at Khowai District Hospital. During the operation, the patient suffered injuries on her urinary tracts which had no cure.

The incident sparked resentment among the locals. The victim's family lodged a complaint with the Khowai police station against Dr Debbarma.
