Eight goats die after serial dog bite in Debipur area under Madhupur police station , police inactive

In a bizarre incident five pet dogs reared by a small time BJP leader in Santi tilla area of Devipur under Madhupur police station in Bishalgarh subdivision have created a terror in the area . These pet dogs have already bitten altogether eight goats reared by local residents and all of them have already died, possibly after being infected by rabies virus but the police personnel of the Madhupur police station have not yet taken any action despite complaints being filed by affected people.
Sources from Debipur sid that Hari Debnath (44), a resident of Santi Tilla area and a small time BJP leader has been rearing five dogs in his house . But these dogs regularly go out of their domestic shelter and have so far bitten eight domestic goats reared by live-stock farmers in Debipur and Chhabbish Mile area . All the eight goats have already died of rabies virus, caused by the dog bite. Enraged by the serial killing of goats and sheeps the affected people laid a siege around the house of Hari Debnath to demand compensation but he was not at home.
The people brought the matter to the notice of the local panchyat but in the absence of any relief they yesterday reached the Madhupur police station and filed a complaint . The officer in charge of the Madhupur police station however took no action even after receiving the complaint . Sources said that unless the police take any action the people have decided to laid a siege around the house of miscreant Hari Debnath demanding compensation for the death of goats soon . Sources said that at one point of time Hari Debnath had been a local worker of the CPI (M) but after the 2018 assembly election he parted company with the CPI (M) and became a leader of the BJP and always flaunts his political connections and power.
