NEET-UG: Belonia student secures AIR 168

Baivab Roy of Belonia in South Tripura district has secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 168 in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026.

Roy scored 686 out of 720 marks in the examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), according to sources.

A resident of Rajib Corner in Belonia, Roy is the son of radiographer Biswanath Roy. Family members, neighbours and teachers congratulated him after the results were announced.

On Sunday evening, the Belonia Mandal organised a felicitation programme at his grandfather's residence near Vidyapith Park. Roy was presented with a traditional Risha, a bouquet and a portrait of Swami Vivekananda.

Speaking at the programme, Belonia Mandal president Sayantan Datta said the student's achievement would encourage others to pursue their academic goals with dedication and perseverance.

Belonia Mandal vice-president Arup Bhowmik and other local leaders were also present.

Roy's performance has placed him among the top-ranked candidates in the country in this year's medical entrance examination.
