Tripura Gramin Bank Signs Historic MoU with State Government, Employees to Get Free Personal Accident Insurance Cover of Up to Rs.2.50 Crore

In a major employee welfare initiative, Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) on Thursday signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Finance Department, Government of Tripura, introducing a comprehensive Salary Package Scheme that provides complimentary Personal Accident Insurance coverage of up to Rs.2.50 crore for all categories of state government employees receiving their salaries through the bank. Notably, the insurance coverage will be available without any premium payment by the employees, making it one of the most attractive salary-linked banking schemes in the state.
The MoU was signed at Conference Hall-III of the Civil Secretariat in Agartala in the presence of senior officials from the Finance Department and Tripura Gramin Bank. Representing the state government were Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal, IAS, Secretary, Finance Department, along with Additional Secretary Dr. Akinchan Sarkar, Joint Secretary Dr. Debamita Kilikdar, and several Deputy Secretaries and senior officers. The bank was represented by its Chairman Shri Satyendra Singh, General Manager Shri Anup Kumar Saha, and other senior officials.
According to the agreement, the specially designed Salary Package Scheme will be extended to all Government of Tripura employees whose salaries are credited through Tripura Gramin Bank. The scheme aims to strengthen employee welfare by offering a range of value-added banking services and financial benefits in addition to the accident insurance cover.
A key highlight of the initiative is the complimentary Personal Accident Insurance available to both regular and contractual employees. Under the scheme, eligible employees will receive accidental insurance coverage of up to Rs.2.50 crore, completely free of cost, without paying a single rupee as insurance premium. The bank stated that this is the highest accidental insurance coverage offered by any bank in Tripura for salaried employees.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank reaffirmed the bank's commitment to providing customer-centric banking solutions and value-added financial services for government employees while deepening its partnership with the Government of Tripura.
The bank said the signing of the MoU marks another significant milestone in its efforts to promote financial inclusion and employee welfare through innovative banking products and institutional partnerships. Tripura Gramin Bank added that it remains committed to supporting inclusive growth and financial empowerment across the state through trusted banking services and customer-focused initiatives.
