CM extends medical aid to patients at 71st 'Mukhyamantri Samipeshu'

Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday interacted with people from different parts of the state during the 71st edition of the 'Mukhyamantri Samipeshu' programme, assuring prompt redressal of public grievances and extending financial assistance to patients requiring medical treatment.
Held at the Chief Minister's official residence, the programme enabled citizens to place their grievances directly before the Chief Minister, with most applicants seeking financial assistance for treatment of serious ailments.
A total of 18 people met Dr. Saha, who also holds the Health portfolio. The applicants included patients suffering from heart disease, brain tumours, kidney ailments, blood cancer, lung cancer, thyroid cancer, pneumonia, vision-related disorders and other serious medical conditions.
After hearing each case, the Chief Minister directed senior Health Department officials and hospital authorities to ensure timely treatment and extend all necessary support. Based on the financial condition of the applicants, several beneficiaries were also sanctioned assistance from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saha urged people not to seek treatment outside the state unless absolutely necessary, saying Tripura's healthcare infrastructure had improved considerably in recent years.
He said the state now has advanced medical facilities, modern diagnostic equipment, specialist doctors and better healthcare services, enabling patients to receive quality treatment within Tripura.
The programme was attended by Chief Secretary and Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Director of Health Services Dr. Debasri Debbarma, GB Pant Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Bidhan Goswami, IGM Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Nirmal Sarkar, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Shiromani Debbarma and other senior Health Department officials.
