Dead body of tribal man recovered from Teliamura police station

The extension of railway connectivity to Tripura-upto the southernmost tip of the state in Sabroom , in fact-was once considered impossible. But the impossible happened and the people of the state are happy over this but along with railway extension has come a new menace to public life in the state in the form of suicides on the tracks or murders passed off as suicides.

Yesterday in a mysterious incident the dead body of a tribal civilian was recovered from the railway track near the Teliamura railway station in Khowai district. Police sources said that a number of traders who run shops near the Teliamura railway station came across a man lying on the railway track with severed head . They immediately informed the police personnel in Teliamura police station and a team of police officials came and shifted the body to the Teliamura hospital for post-mortem. Sources said that the deceased man was named Malen Debbarma (43).

The deceased man’s family members arrived in the hospital and said that Malen had not returned home on Friday night and he was given to excessive drinking of country liquor . They could not cite any reason for his suicide or unnatural death but police sources said that the truth behind the death of Malen Debbarma can come out only after post-mortem proceeding is over.
