BJP Tripura President Abhishek Debroy Issues Stern Warning Against Factionalism, Calls for Unity Ahead of Future Polls

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tripura Pradesh President Abhishek Debroy has issued a strong warning to party leaders and workers against internal factionalism at the mandal level, stressing that indiscipline and group rivalry will not be tolerated within the organisation.

Addressing party functionaries during an organisational programme at Agartala in presence of all the Mondalleadership, Debroy said that leaders engaged in mandal-level factional conflicts must put aside their personal differences and work collectively to strengthen the party. He emphasized that the BJP's priority is organisational unity, discipline, and public service, adding that internal disputes should not undermine the party's electoral prospects.

The speech quickly gained traction on social media, where many party supporters praised Debroy for what they described as a candid and reality-based address. Several users commented that his speech reflected honesty, conviction, and a clear vision for the organisation.

One supporter described the address as "a truly wonderful and thought-provoking speech grounded in reality, delivered with conviction, honesty, and vision," adding that more people should hear such messages. Others hailed him with slogans such as "Abhishek Debroy Ji Zindabad."

Many supporters welcomed his firm stand against factionalism, with one comment stating that this was exactly the kind of strong leadership the party needed and that stricter action should be taken against those responsible for creating internal divisions.

However, the speech also triggered criticism from some quarters. A section of social media users questioned the recent organisational appointments, alleging that many office-bearers from the previous committee had merely been shifted from one post to another rather than bringing in new faces. Some argued that fresh leadership should have been given opportunities and suggested that the party should first focus on performing well in the upcoming Village Council elections before looking ahead to the 2028 Assembly elections.

Some comments also raised questions over the absence of the MLA and party workers from Nalchar at the programme, while others criticised the BJP state president for not naming individuals allegedly responsible for factionalism despite issuing a general warning.

The mixed public response reflects both support for stronger organisational discipline and ongoing concerns among sections of party workers regarding internal leadership and grassroots representation.
