Elder brother dies , younger injured in motor bike accident in Dao Dharani Madrasa area in Bishalgarh

Despite regular observances of road safety week for awareness among people and pious platitudes of high-ups in the administration, road mishaps and resultant deaths continue to haunt Tripura daily . Of the two brothers on the Pulsar motor bike (No-TR07C7233) , the elder one died on the spot while the younger brother is battling for life in a critical condition in GBP hospital, Agartala.

According to details available from local sources, two brothers Kausar Hossain (28) and his younger sibling Sagar Hossain (25) had gone to the office of sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), Sonamura to have their ‘Aadhar’cards corrected . As they were returning home along the Boxanagar road in the afternoon their Pulsar motor bike collided face to face with a speeding commander jeep (No-TR01-4097) coming from the opposite direction at the Dao Dharani area . The collision dislodged both the brothers off the motor bike which was run over by the commander jeep that fled the spot . The local people rushed both Kausar and Sagar to the Bishalgarh hospital where the elder brother Kausar was declared ‘brought dead’ while the younger sibling Sagar Hossain was referred to the GBP hospital in a serious condition . He is stated to be critical in the hospital . The death of Kausar Hossain and critical injury suffered by his younger brother Sagar Hossain have cast a shadow of grief in the Dao Dharani area.

The officer in charge of Sonamura police station Tapas Das said that the driver of the fugitive commander vehicle who had fled the spot surrendered to Sonamura police station . A case has been registered against the driver and investigation into the case is on , said OC Tapas Das. ,
