Marking a significant step towards digital healthcare, the Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Agartala Civil Hospital, the first paperless hospital in Northeast India, commenced its Outpatient Department (OPD) services on Monday.

Sharing details about the launch, Medical Officer and Hospital In-charge Dr. Sushanta Saha said that the hospital successfully provided evening OPD services to 26 patients on the very first day of operation. He informed that the hospital has made arrangements to offer treatment across multiple specialties, including Dermatology, Dental Care, and various other medical disciplines, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services for the public.

The paperless hospital has been designed to deliver digitally integrated healthcare services, enabling faster patient registration, electronic medical records, and improved efficiency in healthcare delivery. The initiative is expected to reduce paperwork, streamline hospital operations, and enhance patient convenience.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha along with Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, IAS and Hospital Superintendent Dr Bidhan Goswami and AGMC Principal Dr Tapan Majumdar made a surprise visit to the state’s premier Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital on Monday to review healthcare services. During his inspection, the Chief Minister interacted with patients and their family members to hear firsthand about their experiences and the quality of medical services being provided.

Based on the feedback received, Dr. Saha issued necessary directions to health department officials to address concerns and further improve patient care and hospital management.

The launch of OPD services at the Northeast's first paperless hospital, coupled with the Chief Minister’s active monitoring of healthcare institutions, reflects the Tripura Government’s continued emphasis on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, promoting digital health initiatives, and ensuring efficient, patient-centric medical services across the state.
