In a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening the administrative capabilities of Tripura, 27 newly recruited Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers have commenced a 10-day customized training programme at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie. The programme, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, marks the first time that newly appointed TCS officers from the state have been provided with specialized training at India's premier civil services academy.

The initiative is being widely viewed as a major step towards building a modern, efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric administrative system in Tripura by exposing young civil servants to world-class governance practices and leadership training.

The programme was inaugurated by Sriram Taranikanti, Director of LBSNAA and a senior IAS officer of the Tripura cadre. Addressing the participants, he congratulated the newly inducted officers and urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, dedication, transparency, accountability, and compassion while serving the people.

He emphasized that the role of a civil servant extends beyond merely discharging official responsibilities. According to him, empathy, ethical leadership, innovative thinking, and an unwavering commitment to public welfare are the defining qualities of an effective administrator. He encouraged the officers to make the best use of every learning opportunity at LBSNAA and develop themselves into capable, responsible, and people-oriented administrators.

The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Deep Jagdeep, Deputy Director of LBSNAA, who expressed confidence that the customized programme would provide the officers with a comprehensive understanding of modern governance, public administration, and citizen service.

Later, Priya Mishra, Joint Director of the Academy, presented the detailed framework of the 10-day programme. She explained that the curriculum has been specially designed to address Tripura's administrative needs and includes sessions on public policy, district administration, good governance, administrative ethics, leadership development, financial management, disaster management, digital governance, case studies, group discussions, and interactive sessions with experienced administrators and subject experts.

One of the highlights of the inaugural ceremony was the presentation of traditional gifts from Tripura to LBSNAA Director Sriram Taranikanti by the trainee officers. As a mark of respect and appreciation, they presented him with a beautifully crafted replica of the Tripurasundari Temple, GI-tagged Matabari Peda, Tripura's famous aromatic lemon, and fragrant Kalikasa rice, showcasing the state's rich cultural heritage, religious significance, and agricultural diversity.

The gesture symbolized the trainees' pride in their home state while honouring a distinguished Tripura cadre IAS officer who now heads India's premier administrative training institution.

During the programme, the officers will gain first-hand exposure to best practices in governance, public policy formulation, leadership, and people-centric administration. Through classroom sessions, case studies, collaborative discussions, and interactions with eminent faculty members and senior administrators, they are expected to significantly enhance their administrative competence and leadership skills.

The initiative is being regarded as a visionary step by the Tripura Government towards creating a highly skilled, accountable, and future-ready civil service. By facilitating specialized training at LBSNAA, the state aims to equip its new officers with the knowledge, values, and practical expertise necessary to deliver efficient governance and quality public service, thereby contributing to Tripura's long-term development.

Expressing their gratitude to the Tripura Government and the LBSNAA authorities, the trainee officers described the programme as a rare and invaluable opportunity at the beginning of their careers. They pledged to apply the knowledge, experience, and values acquired during the training in dedicated service to the people of Tripura.
