The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Agartala, has forecast heavy rainfall (7–11 cm) at one or two places across Khowai, West Tripura, Sepahijala, Gomati, and South Tripura districts on Tuesday (July 14). Residents in these districts have been advised to remain alert as intermittent heavy showers may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.
According to the IMD's weather bulletin issued at 5:30 PM on Monday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places across all districts of Tripura during the forecast period from 8:30 AM on July 14 to 8:30 AM on July 15.
The weather office has predicted that Agartala will experience a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain or thundershowers. The city's maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain around 32°C and 26°C, respectively.
On Monday, Agartala recorded a maximum temperature of 30.2°C and a minimum of 25.2°C, while the relative humidity ranged between 78% and 98%, indicating persistently humid conditions. The city received 40.2 mm of rainfall during the previous 24 hours, while an additional 14.8 mm of rain was recorded up to 5:30 PM on Monday.
The IMD has advised people, particularly those living in flood-prone and low-lying areas, to remain cautious and keep track of the latest weather updates as rainfall activity is expected to continue across the state.
