Old man’s dead body found in mysterious circumstances, investigation on

The recovery of the dead body of an aged man from an under-construction building near Ashwini market area under Amtoli police station of south-western Agartala has triggered tension and anxiety in the area. Following the recovery of the dead body the SP (west) Namit Pathak visited the spot and directed the personnel from Amtoli police station to register a case of unnatural death and begin investigation immediately . Tension has been reported from the area.
Giving details police sources said that Manindra Sarkar (69), resident of nearby Vidyasagar colony area, had fallen foul of his family members and had been living in shed close to an under-construction building near Ashwini market . Yesterday a few morning walkers and customers in the Ashwini market came across a dead body in the shed bearing multiple injuries and blood stains nearby and informed the Amtoli police station and his family members. All of them reached the spot quickly and the family members broke down in tears and loud wailing . The police team called in sniffer dog and a forensic team that started examining the spot . However the sniffer dog could not help much as the body smell of the supposed killers as well as their foot-marks had been lost in rain at night. The body of slain Manindra Sarkar was shifted to the morgue of the TMC hospital for post-mortem.
The SP (west) Namit Pathak also reached the spot and saw the dead body . He instructed the police personnel from Amtoli to register a case of unnatural death and begin inquiry immediately . Some people living close to the under-construction building were also rounded up and interrogated . The SP told media persons that the case would be investigated with all due care and the culprits arrested and charge-sheeted. The recovery of the dead body of slain Manindra Sarkar, an old and harmless man, has triggered tension and anxiety in the area and the people demanded regular police patrolling as the place is not very far from the border.
