Tripura government sign historic memorandum with the School of Science at the ‘Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026’

In a significant step towards strengthening the education sector in Tripura, the state government signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the School of Science , northeast’s premier institute for training students and candidates for competitive exams for jobs and higher education, in the ‘Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026’. As part of this MOU the initiative has been taken to launch a world class residential school at Agartala for students between class I and Class XII at Agartala. The MOU aims to provide world class education, state-of-the-art infrastructure , highly qualified faculty and a holistic learning environment focused on developing human capital endowed with all-round abilities.

The MOU just signed in the conclave is in the nature of an ‘expression of interest’ only , but when implemented the project is expected to significantly reduce the need for students of the state to migrate to other states in search of quality education, strengthen and modernize Tripura’s school education system , generate employment opportunities for qualified teachers, administrative personnel and local service providers. It will also play a pivotal role in promoting true quality education and human resource development across the state.

According to the terms arrived at , the MOU will remain valid for an initial period of twelve months with the possibility of extension through mutual agreement. The project is expected to commence within a year subject to granting of necessary government approvals and statutory clearances . The chairman and principal of the School of Science Abhijiit Bhattacharjee, a great educationist signed the Memorandum of Understandin on behalf of the institution while senior officials of the school education department of the state government put their signatures on behalf of the state government. The landmark initiative is expected to open new avenues for private investment in Tripura’s education sector and serve as a significant milestone in establishing the state as a destination for quality education and academic excellence.
