In a civic action programme as an ancillary to their normal duties the officers and jawans of TSR (14th battalion) set an example in encouraging students belonging to the lower strata of society to study hard and shine in life. The programme was held in the Khilpara child care institution in Udaipur yesterday at the initiative of the management of the institute who secured enthusiastic response from the TSR (14th battalion) whose headquarter is located nearby.
The programme began in the morning around 10-00 AM with officers and jawans of the TSR battalion distributing sweet mangoes among the little students who were visibly happy . This was followed by brief speeches from the officers of the TSR battalion , deputy commandant Lalhim Malsum, Naike-Subedar Bipul Kanti Datta and assistant commandant Bankim Debbarma. All three officers expressed their love and affection for the students and asked them to be mindful of studies as well as the task of building strong bodies and health. They explained to the students in lucid language that their priority should be studies but taking part in sports and games and building strong bodies are equally important.
The superintendent of the child care institute Jay Debnath in his address conveyed his respect and gratitude to the TSR (14th battalion) authority and described the contribution of the paramilitary force as an example. He, along with senior members of the local community in Khilpara , thanked the TSR officers and jawans and urged upon to keep in touch with the institution as well as to guide the students in the matter of physical exercise and participation in games and sports.
