Pregnant woman floored on the ground and beaten up by miscreant, Belonia woman police station inactive

In a chilling incident a one and half month pregnant woman was forcibly floored on the ground and beaten up severely by a miscreant in Nalua market area under Belonia subdivision yesterday in the morning . But more bizarre is the fact that , despite filing of a formal complaint , the Belonia woman police station is totally inactive in the matter and is reported to have falsely recorded the fact that the culprit is absconding.

Sources from Belonia said that Nayan Das (35), a resident of Abhay Nagar under Nalua, had been gone to the market around 9-30 in the morning and had been chatting with an acquaintance . This had caught the attention of a shop-keeper Praneshwar Nama (36) with whom Nayan had an old enmity . At the sight of Nayan chatting with another man in front of his shop , Praneshwar came out with a bamboo stick in his hand and started beating up Nayan with it. While trying to ward off the blows from the stick Nayan got injured and finally ran away from the place to save himself.

After coming to know of everything at home from her husband , Nayan’s pregnant wife Sabita Das got agitated and came to the market and asked Praneshwar why he had beaten her husband, for what offence. But miscreant Praneshwar flare up at this and attacked the pregnant woman . After flooring her on the ground Praneshwar severely beat her up in front of many people who did not intervene in the matter . Praneshwar also threatened Sabita with murder in case she filed a complaint with the police. After being insulted and injured Sabita went back home and reached the Belonia womens police station with her husband Nayan. They filed a formal complaint but the women police station officers took no action to nab the culprit Praneshwar but falsely recorded that the accused is absconding.
