83 Villagers Receive Medical Care, Three Malaria Cases Detected at Health Camp in Thalcherra Market Organized by Chawmanu Police Station

A comprehensive health camp was successfully organized today at Thalcherra Market under Chawmanu Police Station and the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of Thalcherra TSR Post in collaboration with the 23 Km Primary Health Centre (PHC), Longtharai Valley (LTV), Dhalai District. The initiative aimed to improve access to healthcare services for residents of the remote area while promoting awareness and early detection of communicable diseases.

A total of 83 villagers received medical consultations and treatment during the camp. Essential medicines were provided free of cost by the 23 Km PHC, ensuring that patients received immediate care for various health conditions.

As part of the programme, a special malaria screening drive was also conducted among 91 villagers. The screening identified three positive cases of malaria, including infections caused by both Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) and Plasmodium vivax (PV). The affected individuals were immediately provided with the necessary anti-malarial medicines by the medical team from the 23 Km PHC, and appropriate follow-up treatment was advised.

The programme was attended by Shri Rajesh Bardhan, Deputy Commandant, along with Subedar Bhabesh Debbarma, Naib Subedar (Compounder) Mujammel Hossain, Naib Subedar Jibon Miah Poddar, and 15 personnel from the Battalion Headquarters of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR), who actively assisted in organizing and conducting the camp.

The initiative received an enthusiastic response from the local community. Villagers expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the security personnel and the Health Department in bringing quality healthcare services to their doorstep. Light refreshments were also arranged for the villagers attending the camp, adding to the success and community-friendly atmosphere of the programme.

The health camp highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between the security forces and the Health Department in strengthening rural healthcare delivery, promoting disease prevention, and enhancing the well-being of people living in remote areas of Dhalai district.
