Congress condemns theft in Ayodhya’s ‘Ram Mandir’, alleges corruption in construction of ‘Mata Bari’ temple in Udaipur also

The ruling BJP has reacted sharply to Congress criticism voiced today by Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and MLA Sudip Roybarman and PCC president Asish Kumar Saha over the theft of donations from Ram Mandir in Ayodhya ,UP. In an interaction with the media today in the Congress Bhawan Sudip Roybarman and Asish Saha lashed out at the theft of crores of donation money from the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and described it as a ‘shameful chapter’ in India’s history . “The BJP is not sparing even money belonging to deities and objects of worship to crores of Hindus ; this party is so corrupt ; we must remember that the Ram Mandir trust was constituted by the BJP and its members have been nabbed for theft of donations ; the party and the governments in UP and Centre are now trying to shield the bigger thieves by nabbing the small fries ; there should be a supreme court monitored investigation into this” said Sudip . He also expressed his suspicion that there was largescale corruption in the reconstruction of the ‘Mata Tripureshwari’ temple in Udaipur also.

However, the BJP has reacted sharply to assertions made by Sudip Roybarman, describing the press conference in Congress Bhawan as directed by their leadership in Delhi. “ Yes , there has been a theft in the Ram Mandir which is shameful and condemnable but the UP government immediately constituted a special investigation team (SIT) that has arrested eight guilty persons who will be prosecuted in court; two senior functionaries have already resigned and the investigation will be taken to logical conclusion; what more do they want and why the Congressis were silent when gold and silver donations as well as money had been stolen from Sabarimala temple in Kerala during the left regime” asked P.N. Bhattacharjee , a senior BJP leader . He gave the answer saying the UP election is drawing near.

He said that Congress had all along been opposed to Ram Temple and denied even the existence of Lord Ram , terming him as a mythical character in an affidavit filed in supreme court and now they have morphed into Ram Bhakts for political gains . “Did any one from Congress go to Ram Temple inauguration ceremony on January 22 2024 despite being invited ? All along they had stood for the so-called Babri Maszid and even tried through their layer to delay the supreme court judgement on the issue till after the end of 2024 Loksabha polls ; now they have turned into Ram Bhakts” said P.N. Bhattacharjee. He added that Congress had said nothing on the massacre of Ram Bhakts in police firing at the order of the Mulayam Singh government in 1990 and even after this.

He also asserted that Congress’s top leaders had visited and paid obeisance to Babur’s tomb in Kabul on several occasions but had never gone to Ram temple or Ayodhya. “ You need not see official record or read books, only ‘Google’ check will tell you that Pandit Nehru had gone to Babur’s tomb in Kabul in 1959, Indira Gandhi in 1968, Rajiv Gandhi in 1976 and Rahul Gandhi along with Dr Manmohan Singh in 2005 ; they did not find time to visit the Ram Janmabhoomi site in their lives and now Congress is shedding copious tears over the theft of donations from the temple; this matter is being seriously taken care of by the UP government and they need not poke their nose into this” said P.N.Bhattacharjee.
