NJY National Moot Court Competition 2026 Concludes Successfully at ICFAI University Tripura, NEF Law College Emerges Champion

The three-day 4th NJY National Moot Court Competition 2026, organized by the Faculty of Law, ICFAI University, Tripura, concluded successfully on June 19, reaffirming the university’s commitment to fostering excellence in legal education, advocacy, and professional training.
The prestigious national-level competition attracted 23 teams comprising 68 law students from 21 reputed law institutions across 11 states of India, providing a vibrant platform for aspiring legal professionals to demonstrate their advocacy, legal research, drafting, and courtroom skills in a highly competitive academic environment.
The event witnessed several rounds of rigorous competition. Following the preliminary rounds, eight teams advanced to the Quarter-Final Round, while four teams qualified for the Semi-Finals. The Final Round featured an intense contest between NEF Law College, Guwahati and Symbiosis Law School, Pune, two institutions known for their strong performances in moot court competitions across the country.
After a closely fought final, NEF Law College, Guwahati was declared the Champion of the 4th NJY National Moot Court Competition 2026, while Symbiosis Law School, Pune secured the Runner-up position.
The Valedictory Ceremony, held on June 19, was graced by Smt. Sankari Das, Legal Remembrancer and Secretary, Law Department, Government of Tripura, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, she congratulated all participants for their dedication and legal acumen and praised the Faculty of Law, ICFAI University, Tripura, for successfully organizing a national-level moot court competition that contributes significantly to the development of future legal professionals.
The ceremony was also attended by distinguished university officials, including Dr. A Ranganath, Registrar, and Dr. Nabarun Bhattacharjee, Principal, Faculty of Law, along with faculty members, judges, and participants from across the country.
During the valedictory session, awards were presented in various categories, including Best Memorial, Best Student Advocate, Best Researcher, and other special recognitions. Winners received trophies, certificates, and cash prizes in acknowledgment of their outstanding performances throughout the competition.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Raghunath Chakraborty, Convenor of the NJY National Moot Court Competition, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, judges, participating institutions, faculty members, student volunteers, sponsors, and all stakeholders whose collective efforts ensured the grand success of the event.
