Two Tripura born scientists gain international recognition and success

In a major pride and glory for the state , two Tripura born scientists have been awarded the prestigious American scholarship grant known as ‘Emergent Ventures Grant’ for innovating an advanced health application that will help in quick diagnosis of liver ailments by applying artificial intelligence through a portable diagnostic platform.
The scientists, Satadru Chakraborty and Srijib Karmakar were students of Agartala Holy Cross school and attained their higher education in IIT , Kharagpur . The scholarship and research grant conferred on them by US’s Virginia based Marketus Centre affiliated with the world renowned George Mason University will enable them to further improve upon what they have already devised.
Satadru Chakraborty has already gained higher education and training in several internationally reputed scientific institutes in countries of Europe and has already been awarded as ‘best junior scientist’by the Indian National Young Scientist Association. Srijib Karmakar , on the other hand, is now engaged in post-doctoral research work in IIT, Kharagpur and has already innovated a new class of Quantum dot that has already been patented . This quantum dot is designed to act as a potential medical probe. While Satadru Chakraborty is the only son of teacher journalist Pulak Chakraborty and Alakananda Chakraborty, Srijib Karmakar is the son of late businessman Jibon Chakraborty of Natun Nagar area of Agartala near the airport.
