Minister Sudhangshu Das castigates forcible installation of Lord Ram’s statue in Bangladesh by Islamists

Amidst the deafening silence of faith-flaunting ruling party leaders , the minister for animal resource development , Sudhangshu Das has reacted strongly to the forcible stalling of the erection of the world’s tallest statue of Lord Ram in a temple complex in the Palashpur area under Gaibanda district of Bangladesh by Islamists. “ With their extremely sectarian and mean-minded approach under Islamist pressure Bangladesh is well on course to emulating fast-disintegrating Pakistan and fundamentalist Afghanistan ; a time is coming very soon when the Bangladeshis may try to enforce the infamous ‘Sharia’ law across the country ; if an entire country is bent upon committing socio-economic and political suicide who can protect it” asked Sudhanshu.

He was speaking to media persons on the issue of Islamist ban put on erection of Lord Ram’s statue. Sudhanshu said that successive dispensations in Bangladesh and earlier in East Pakistan have been trying to rid that country of its entire Hindu population and they have succeeded to a great extent as reflected in the steep fall of Hindu population in that country from around 35% in 1947 to only 7.95% now. “ These Islamists in Bangladesh wallowing in religious hatred perhaps feel that they will be happier without Hindus but these people are devoid of any sense of history ; the culture of violence in that country will turn upon the Islamists and their followers once the Hindus totally leave Bangladesh ; the culture of the gun always look for targets and they may well be in the plight of Afghanistan and lawless Pakistan”said Sudhangshu.

He also referred to the systematic genocide of Hindus in the present territory of Bangladesh , earlier known as Eastern Bengal and then East Pakistan. “ What I am saying is part of recorded history ; anyone can read what they have done to the Hindus in books available galore in market and libraries ; but there is end to everything and a time will come when the Islamists in Bangladesh will regret what they are doing now” said Sudhangshu.
