The Tripura government has launched an online monitoring system for school inspections and student assessments to strengthen oversight of educational institutions and track learning outcomes across the state.
The digital platform was inaugurated by School Education Secretary Dr Milind Dharamrao Ramteke at a workshop organised by the NIPUN Tripura Cell and Pre-Primary Cell under the Directorate of Elementary Education.
Under the new framework, Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) will conduct regular inspections of primary schools and upload reports through the online portal. They will be required to visit schools under their jurisdiction at least once every 15 days to monitor academic activities and student progress.
Ramteke said the system would enable real-time access to inspection data at the district and state levels, helping authorities identify gaps and take corrective measures promptly.
Inspectors of Schools will oversee the inspection process and assess learning standards in Classes VI to X. The department will also undertake surprise visits and spot assessments to evaluate students' performance.
Officials said teachers will conduct periodic assessments through the platform, allowing the department to track learning outcomes and monitor progress more effectively. The initiative is centred on improving Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), a key focus area of the School Education Department.
Director of Elementary Education Harshita Biswas said all stakeholders, including inspectors, BRPs, CRPs and teachers, must work in coordination to improve the quality of education and ensure accountability at every level.
Director of SCERT L Darlong and State Nodal Officer of NIPUN Mission Abhijit Samajpati were among those present at the programme.
Inspectors, BRPs and CRPs from all eight districts attended training sessions on the operation of the online monitoring system, conducted by officials of the Vidya Samiksha Kendra.
