Newly appointed BJP Tripura state president Abhishek Debroy has sent a strong message to party leaders and workers, emphasizing discipline, organizational unity, and grassroots strengthening as key priorities for the party's future. Delivering his first major address after assuming office, Debroy warned that indiscipline and public criticism of party leaders on social media would no longer be tolerated.
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony held at Rabindra Bhavan, attended by senior BJP leaders, ministers, MLAs, and party functionaries, Debroy made it clear that any derogatory comments against party leaders on Facebook or other social media platforms would be treated as anti-party activities and could invite disciplinary action.
In his address, Debroy stressed that maintaining organizational discipline is essential for the BJP's continued success in Tripura. He cautioned party workers against internal conflicts being aired publicly and urged everyone to work collectively toward strengthening the organization.
According to him, criticism of party leaders on social media damages the party's image and weakens organizational unity. He indicated that the state leadership would now adopt a stricter approach against such activities.
The newly elected state president highlighted the importance of strengthening the party's grassroots structure, particularly by empowering Panna Pramukhs and Booth Presidents.
Debroy described Panna Pramukhs as the foundation of the BJP's organizational network, stating that their commitment, activity, and sense of responsibility are crucial for building a strong party structure. He also referred to Booth Presidents as the first soldiers in ensuring BJP's electoral victories at the grassroots level.
He urged party leaders to give greater importance to these frontline organizational workers and ensure that the party's network remains active and effective at every polling booth.
Delivering a clear message to party leaders and workers, Debroy said:
“Let us move forward together, strengthen the organization, and ensure BJP's success.”
He further declared:
“Organisation is strength, organisation is success.”
Reiterating the BJP's emphasis on cadre-based politics, he added that workers remain the party's greatest asset and that organizational strength should remain its biggest source of pride.
In a significant remark, Debroy said that merely chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” does not automatically make someone a true BJP worker.
He argued that genuine commitment to the party requires dedication to organizational work, adherence to party ideology, discipline, and continuous engagement with the people. According to him, the BJP must become more organized, dynamic, and powerful at the booth level if it aims to secure a third consecutive victory in the 2028 Tripura Assembly elections.
Debroy emphasized that unwavering commitment to the party's ideology and maintaining close relations with ordinary citizens are essential for long-term political success.
Addressing party workers, Debroy stated that the BJP's ideological foundation would continue to guide every organizational decision.
He said the party's core principle of “Nation First, Self Last” should reach every booth, mandal, and grassroots worker across Tripura. According to him, ideological clarity and organizational discipline must go hand in hand as the party prepares for future electoral battles.
While assuming office amid enthusiasm within the party, Debroy also faces a significant political challenge in the form of the upcoming ADC Village Council elections.
The challenge becomes more critical in light of BJP's disappointing performance in the recent elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. Out of 28 seats, Tipra Motha Party secured a dominant victory by winning 24 seats, while BJP managed to win only four.
The results exposed organizational weaknesses in the tribal-dominated hill areas and highlighted the need for rebuilding the party's grassroots presence in the region.
Political observers believe that revitalizing the party organization in the hill districts and restoring worker morale will be among Debroy's most important responsibilities.
The BJP leadership is expected to focus heavily on strengthening its network in ADC areas, where electoral setbacks have raised concerns about the party's influence among tribal voters. Reconstructing booth-level structures, mobilizing workers, and improving outreach efforts in these regions are likely to become key priorities under the new state president.
Looking Ahead to 2028 Despite the recent challenges, BJP leaders remain optimistic about the future under Debroy's leadership. Party insiders believe that his relatively young profile and organizational background could inject fresh energy into the state unit.
Political analysts also view the leadership change as strategically significant as the party begins preparations for the 2028 Tripura Assembly elections. The success of Debroy's tenure is expected to be measured by his ability to strengthen the organization, maintain internal discipline, expand the party's presence in tribal areas, and lead the BJP toward another electoral victory.
As he takes charge, Abhishek Debroy's first message has been unmistakably clear: discipline, ideology, unity, and grassroots organization will be the pillars on which the BJP seeks to build its future in Tripura.
