Abhishek Debroy takes up responsibility as new state president

The newly appointed state president of BJP in Tripura , Abhishek Debroy who is also an MLA from the Matabari constituency of south Tripura today took up his responsibility as new president from the outgoing incumbent Rajeev Bhattacharjee . This take-over and hand-over of responsibilities came off in the state BJP headquarter at Krishna Nagar this afternoon. The occasion was adorned by the chief minister Dr Manik Saha and other stalwarts of the party here as Rajeev Bhattacharjee formally handed over various important keys, files and computer records to Debroy to the clapping by all president. It was a smooth affair though there were notable absentees from the programme.

Later speaking to media persons the chief minister Dr Manik Saha expressed his hope that the incumbency of Abhishek Debroy in the top organizational post will strengthen the party and all of its frontal wings. “Abhishek has already proved his mettle as MLA and ‘Mandal’ leader and I am sure his dynamism and organizational ability will further strengthen the party here” said Dr Saha. He also thanked the outgoing president Rajeev Bhattacharjee for his leadership of the party over the past four years since he himself had resigned the post following his take-over as chief minister. “I am hopeful that from here on we will continue to gain in strength organizationally and Abhshek’s appointment to the post will help us, specially when we are just less than two years behind the next assembly polls in 2028” said Manik.
