All Saturdays Declared Government Holiday in Tripura Education Department, Office Timing Revised from May 27

The Government of Tripura has officially declared all Saturdays of every month as government holidays and simultaneously revised office timings for government departments across the state. The decision has been implemented with immediate effect as part of energy-saving measures aimed at reducing electricity and fuel consumption in government offices.
According to a memorandum issued by the Directorate of Elementary Education, Establishment Section, Agartala, under memo No. F.1 (145-1)-DEE/ESTT/2025/283 dated May 27, 2026, the revised office timing will now be from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM instead of the earlier schedule of 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
The official lunch break timing, however, will remain unchanged from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
The memo was issued in pursuance of the State Government notification No. F.1 (10)/GA (AR)/2026(Part-1)/310 dated May 25, 2026. Following the notification, all officers and employees under the Directorate have been instructed to strictly adhere to the revised office arrival and departure timings.
The Directorate has also directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) and Inspectors of Schools across different districts to ensure compliance with the new office schedule.
Officials stated that the initiative has been undertaken to strengthen energy conservation practices in government establishments by minimizing operational costs related to electricity and fuel usage.
The order has come into force with immediate effect and is expected to impact functioning patterns in various government departments throughout Tripura.
The memorandum was signed by the Director of Elementary Education, Tripura and State Project Director (SPD), Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
