Abhoynagar Rehab Centre Operator Shubham Biswas Detained in Connection With Rajesh Ghosh Case, Questioned by Police, Social Media Users Reactions Intensify

A major controversy has erupted in Tripura after social worker and anti-drug campaigner Shubham Biswas, associated with the Swapna Foundation de-addiction and rehabilitation centre in Abhoynagar, was detained and later handed over to police of the Tripura Police under the jurisdiction of Amtali Police Station.

According to preliminary police sources, the detention is linked to an ongoing investigation involving allegations made by and against Rajesh Ghosh, a BJPs Youth Marcha Leader on social media. Investigators are reportedly examining whether any direct or indirect connection exists between Shubham Biswas and the case currently under probe.

Police officials stated that the matter remains under investigation and that questioning is being conducted as part of routine legal procedure.

Allegations Linked to Social Media Posts

Sources indicate that the case involves allegations of defamatory remarks, objectionable comments, and threatening content circulated on social media platforms targeting Rajesh Ghosh. Based on the complaint and digital evidence under examination, police initiated action and brought Shubham Biswas in for questioning.

The development triggered widespread reactions across social media, with supporters of both individuals expressing sharply divided opinions.

Supporters Call Shubham a Voice Against Drugs.

Many residents and social media users defended Shubham Biswas, describing him as a social worker who has played an important role in anti-drug awareness campaigns and rehabilitation efforts in Tripura.

Supporters alleged that his outspoken stand against narcotics and illegal activities may have led to growing opposition against him. Several posts claimed that people who work for society are often targeted, while others appealed for fair treatment and transparency in the investigation.

Shubham’s supporters also highlighted his role in helping youths recover from addiction through rehabilitation initiatives under the Swapna Foundation banner.

On the other hand, supporters of Rajesh Ghosh strongly condemned what they described as personal attacks and insulting social media content directed at him.

Several BJP youth workers and supporters termed Rajesh Ghosh a popular singer, activist, and dedicated party worker associated with efforts toward building a CPM-free Tripura. Some warned against targeting political workers through social media campaigns and demanded strict legal action if defamatory content was shared intentionally.
