IPFT holds central committee meeting in Dasharath Deb memorial hall in Supari Bagan area of Agartala

The Indigenous Peoples Front of Twipra (IPFT) organized a meeting of the party’s central committee in the Dasharath Deb Memorial Hall in Supari Bagan area of Agartala today . The meeting was attended by senior party leaders including president of the party Prem Kumar Reang , general secretary Shukla Charan Noatia who is also minister for co-operative department in the states government and general secretary Swapan Debbarma and others.

Before the central committee meeting started the party president Prem Kumar Reang hoisted the party flag and offered floral tributes to a portrait of party’s founder-president late Narendra Debbarma. In the meeting many important issues and the role and programme of IPFT in the present condition of state politics including its longstanding demand for change in nomenclature of the ADC from Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to Twipraland state was discussed.

Speaking to media persons on the proceedings in the meeting minister Shukla Charan Noatia said that it was a one-day meeting in which the performance of the IPFT in the ADC elections held in April was discussed and decisions were taken to further strengthen the party. Apart from this the holding of triennial state conference of the party and programmes to be adopted in future also figured prominently in the discussion by leaders . The state conference of the party will be held at a suitable time in the near fiture , Shukla Charan added.
