Tripura banks sanction Rs 419 crore loans at outreach programme

Banks in Tripura on Tuesday sanctioned loans worth Rs 419.11 crore to 10,162 beneficiaries under various government schemes at a mega credit outreach programme organised by the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC).

The programme, organised by Punjab National Bank at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, was attended by Department of Financial Services Secretary M Nagaraju, Chief Secretary J K Sinha and senior banking officials.

Officials said the loans were sanctioned under categories including Mudra Yojana, PM SVANidhi, PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, MSME and Kisan Credit Card schemes.

As part of CSR initiatives, PNB and Union Bank donated one ambulance each to West Tripura district health authorities, while SBI sanctioned Rs 36.28 lakh for upgrading 20 ambulances. UCO Bank also provided Rs 24.56 lakh for another ambulance.

NABARD sanctioned Rs 15.06 lakh to CIPET for skill training of rural youths in plastic technology.

A similar programme at Udaipur saw loan sanctions worth Rs 105.40 crore distributed among 4,577 beneficiaries, officials said.
