Agartala May 26 : Even as members of so-called SLL brigade continue to raise irrelevant questions as part of agenda over the plight of Indian minorities whose population and prosperity have been growing steadily on the back of governmental bounties, the condition of hapless Hindu minorities in the hell-hole of Bangladesh continues to worsen because of the consensual persecution perpetrated on them by the ‘Momin’ Muslims, with the government and police looking the other way. In the latest incident of Hindu hounding a poor Hindu shop-keeper Sribas Chandra Saha (50) who lived by running a small shop in the Singair market area under Manikganj district near Dhaka was murdered in broad daylight yesterday in the morning by a ‘Momin’ miscreant named Shahabuddin.

Sources from Bangladesh said that Sribas Saha had refused to sell a thing to Shahabuddin on credit, as demanded by him, because he owed a big amount of money for things purchased on credit earlier. Enraged by the refusal and reference to non-payment of dues miscreant Shahbuddin dragged Sribas Saha, a heart patient, out of his shop and repeatedly kicked him all over his body. A section of local people in the market who saw what had happened arranged to send Sribas Saha to Manikganj hospital where he was pronounced ‘dead on arrival’. Sources said that Sribas Saha was the sole bread winner of his family comprising his octogenarian mother, wife and two school-going children and the family is now down to destitution . Despite knowing everything police in Manikgaj has taken no action to arrest the murderer Shahabuddin.

In a separate incident a hapless Hindu widow Anima Chowdhury (42) was sought to be molested by a Muslim miscreant Md Zalil Haoladar in Mollapur village under Agaijhera police station in Barishal district yesterday. Sources said that Anima Chowdhury had been returning home from the local market in Mollapur village and the miscreant Md Zalil Haoladar had started shadowing her . As she reached a relatively quiet place on way back home Zalil grabbed her and molested her though hearing her cries for help a number of people reached the spot and Zalil fled away. Later the local high-ups called a ‘Khap Panchayat’ and one senior ‘Momin’ gave a slap on Zalil’s face as punishment and the matter was hushed up. Such incidents are now a regular feature in Bangladesh , specially in places where Hindu minorities live, sources said.
