Over 13,000 Small Enterprises to be Developed in Tripura Under Entrepreneurship Drive: CM Dr. Manik Saha

In a major push towards rural entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that more than 13,000 small enterprises will be developed across various blocks of the state under an ambitious entrepreneurship initiative. The state government has earmarked approximately Rs 38 crore for the programme aimed at strengthening self-reliance and improving the rural economy. Addressing the gathering during the launch of the Samriddhi 2.0 programme at Rabindra Bhavan in Agartala, the Chief Minister emphasized that women-led empowerment initiatives are bringing significant social and economic transformation in Tripura. He stated that women are becoming increasingly self-reliant through different government-supported schemes and livelihood missions.Dr. Saha said that the social system in Tripura is witnessing a positive change due to the growing participation of women in entrepreneurship and economic activities. According to him, women are the most tolerant and resilient section of society, and their empowerment directly contributes to the strengthening of families, communities, and the state economy.The Chief Minister highlighted that the economic foundation of Tripura is becoming stronger as more women achieve financial independence through self-employment and small business ventures. He noted that the state government is actively supporting initiatives that promote entrepreneurship among rural women and self-help groups.Referring to the impact of the Grameen Jivika Mission, Dr. Saha stated that the mission has played a crucial role in making rural women financially self-sufficient. He added that the success of Samriddhi 1.0 was the result of collective efforts by government agencies, women’s groups, and local communities across the state.The Chief Minister further mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasized women-led development as a cornerstone of building a stronger and developed India by 2047 under the vision of Viksit Bharat. He said that the confidence, dedication, and determination shown by women are key drivers for national progress.Dr. Saha informed that following the remarkable success of the Samriddhi 1.0 campaign, the state government has now launched Samriddhi 2.0 with expanded goals and broader outreach. The programme aims to create better livelihood opportunities, strengthen women’s entrepreneurship, and promote sustainable economic development in Tripura.
Officials said the initiative is expected to generate large-scale self-employment opportunities in rural areas, especially among women and economically weaker sections. The programme will also focus on skill development, micro-enterprise support, financial inclusion, and market linkage for small entrepreneurs.The launch of Samriddhi 2.0 is being viewed as a significant step towards transforming Tripura’s rural economy through inclusive growth and grassroots entrepreneurship.
