Eight Players Including Tripura’s local talent Angsla Debbarma Qualify for Main Draw in TTA Asian Ranking Under-16 Tennis Tournament 2026

The prestigious TTA Asian Ranking 16 & Under Tennis Tournament 2026 witnessed intense qualifying round action on Saturday as eight promising players secured their places in the Main Draw of the Boys Singles Under-16 category. The tournament is currently being hosted at the State Tennis Complex, Malancha Niwas, and the Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex (DDSSC) in Agartala.

After a series of competitive qualifying matches, the players who advanced to the Main Draw are Paranjay Kutwal, Aditya Kamat, Rudra Patwardhan, Dhanvin Venkateshkumar, Aman Mimani, Srinikesh Pindiprolu, Hemang Barna and Tripura’s local talent Angsla Debbarma.

The championship has drawn participation from several states across the country and is expected to showcase some of the finest emerging tennis talents in the Under-16 category.

In the Main Draw, Sankalp Kumar Sahani of West Bengal has been named the top seed in the Boys category, while Niesha Enja of Telangana State is the top seed in the Girls category.

The Main Draw matches of the tournament will begin from Monday, May 18, 2026, and are expected to feature high-quality competition among the country’s top-ranked junior players.

Meanwhile, the official inauguration ceremony of the tournament will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Dr PK Chakraborty, Secretary of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, Government of Tripura, has kindly consented to attend the event as the Chief Guest.

The tournament is being organized under the aegis of the Tripura Tennis Association and is regarded as a significant platform for nurturing young tennis talent and promoting the sport in the northeastern region.
