Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Inaugurates Advanced State Data Centre for Water Resource Management in Agartala

The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, today inaugurated the newly established State Data Centre of the Public Works Department (Water Resources) at the Visvesvaraya Complex in Kunjaban, Agartala. The technologically advanced facility has been developed to strengthen scientific water resource management across the state.
Addressing the inaugural programme, the Chief Minister stated that the modern State Data Centre has been set up by the PWD (Water Resources) Department with the objective of ensuring comprehensive monitoring and management of underground water levels, river water levels, flood control systems, and overall water resource administration in Tripura.
He congratulated and extended his best wishes to all officials, engineers, and personnel associated with the successful implementation of the important project. According to the Chief Minister, the technology-driven initiative will bring greater transparency, efficiency, and speed in water resource management and will significantly improve public service delivery for the people of the state.
Speaking at the function, Dr. Manik Saha highlighted the remarkable work being carried out by the Water Resources Department in Tripura. He informed that out of nearly 2.55 lakh hectares of agricultural land in the state, irrigation facilities have already been provided to around 1.5 lakh hectares through the department’s initiatives.
The Chief Minister also praised the department’s continuous efforts in flood control and water management, stating that its role has been highly commendable in protecting people and agricultural areas during flood situations.
The newly inaugurated State Data Centre is expected to play a major role in strengthening data-driven planning, real-time monitoring, and disaster preparedness in Tripura’s water resource sector.
