Transform Trust Reviews TRESP–TPD Progress in South Tripura, Meets District Magistrate and Visits Schools

The Transform Trust team, serving as the Technical Support Agency for the Department of School Education (DoSE), SCERT Tripura, and the TRESP initiative, conducted an extensive review visit to South Tripura on Wednesday to assess the progress of the TRESP–Teacher Professional Development (TPD) programme and strengthen coordination with district authorities and educational institutions.
The delegation was led by Mukta Narain Thind, Managing Director of Transform School, and Dr. Syeda Nuzhat Ali, Director of Programmes, T3. They were accompanied by district representatives Ikbal Hossen, Implementation Coordinator, and Satadal Pal, Training Associate. During the visit, the team met South Tripura District Magistrate Shri Muhammad Sajjad P, IAS, and shared detailed updates regarding the implementation status, outreach, and achievements of the programme in the district and across Tripura.
The meeting focused on the ongoing efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning in government schools through continuous professional development of teachers. The delegation discussed the programme’s progress, challenges, and future roadmap, while also highlighting the growing participation of teachers under the initiative.
As part of the field visit, the Transform Trust team visited schools and BKI institutions in Belonia where they conducted classroom observations and interacted directly with teachers, school heads, and district education officials. The interactions aimed at understanding the ground-level implementation of the programme, identifying areas requiring academic support, and strengthening institutional coordination for more effective delivery of training and classroom practices.
Officials associated with the programme informed that the TRESP–TPD initiative has been designed to strengthen teacher professional development and institutional capacity building across Tripura. The programme supports teachers of Classes VI to XII through structured classroom resources, peer-learning networks, and self-learning modules to enhance teaching practices and improve student learning outcomes.
According to programme data shared during the visit, a total of 13,453 teachers have already been trained across Tripura under the TRESP–TPD initiative, achieving an impressive 91 percent participation rate. In South Tripura alone, more than 2,000 teachers have participated in the programme, reflecting strong engagement from educators in the district.
District Magistrate Shri Muhammad Sajjad P, IAS, assured full administrative support for the successful implementation of the initiative in South Tripura. He reaffirmed the commitment of the district administration towards improving teaching quality, strengthening educational institutions, and ensuring better learning outcomes for students studying in government schools across the district.
