Veteran Tribal Leader BK Hrangkhawl Launches Autobiography “A Never Ending Journey” in Agartala

Veteran tribal leader and founder of the Tripura National Volunteers (TNV), Bijoy Kumar (BK) Hrangkhawl, on Sunday released his autobiography titled “A Never Ending Journey” at a special programme held at the Agartala Press Club.

The event turned into a significant gathering of political leaders, writers, admirers, and members of Tripura’s tribal community, reflecting the long political and social journey of BK Hrangkhawl, one of the most influential tribal figures in the history of Tripura.

The autobiography was formally unveiled by his wife, Linda Hrangkhawl, who has been described by the veteran leader as a constant source of inspiration throughout his life, particularly during his underground years. The couple’s journey together during difficult and turbulent times forms an emotional backdrop to the publication.

Several prominent personalities attended the programme, including former All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) chief and MLA Ranjit Debbarma, royal scion Pragya Debbarma, MDCs, intellectuals, writers, and well-wishers of the author. Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the TTAADC, Runiel Debbarma, was also present on the occasion.

Speaking during the event, speakers highlighted BK Hrangkhawl’s role in shaping tribal politics and movements in Tripura over the decades. They described the autobiography as an important political and historical document that offers insights into the struggles, aspirations, and identity movements of the indigenous people of the state.

The book contains several major chapters reflecting different phases of his life and political journey. Some of the notable chapters include A Journey Through Hardship, In Search of Identity, Jampui Days, Advocacy of Tribal Rights, Tribal Fight for Survival, A Revolution is Born, TUJS Comes of Age, Fight Back, Clamour of Constitutional Rights, Challenging Times, Surviving in the Jungle, The Next Generation, My State My People, Tribal Way of Life, My Thoughts of Tribal Plight, My Life Journey, and Tripura Royals.

The autobiography also reportedly contains several rare and historically significant photographs from Hrangkhawl’s underground days and different phases of the tribal movement in Tripura, making it valuable for researchers, historians, and political observers.

Participants at the programme congratulated BK Hrangkhawl for documenting his experiences and preserving an important chapter of Tripura’s socio-political history for future generations.

The release of “A Never Ending Journey” is expected to generate considerable interest among readers interested in the political evolution, tribal movements, and contemporary history of Tripura.
