Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated a training session for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mandal-level leaders at the party’s state headquarters, party sources said.
The programme was attended by BJP Tripura Pradesh president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other senior leaders.
Addressing reporters after the inaugural session, Saha said the party has initiated a structured training programme from the Mandal level to the state level in line with directives from the central leadership.
He said the training modules have been designed with specific subjects assigned at different organisational tiers. “For Mandal leaders, we have seven subjects and an additional subject has been included by the state unit,” he said.
At the district level, the Chief Minister said, the central leadership has prescribed 11 subjects, with the state unit adding one more focused on Tripura-specific issues and development initiatives undertaken by the government.
“At the state level, we also have a set of subjects. If required, we will conduct separate training sessions for booth-level workers,” he added.
Saha said the objective of the programme is to familiarise party workers with the organisation’s ideological framework and functioning. He said the training would help workers understand the party’s philosophy and operational approach.
The BJP has been conducting organisational training exercises across states as part of its internal capacity-building measures, focusing on strengthening grassroots structures and coordination among different levels of leadership.
There was no immediate response from opposition parties on the training initiative.
