Former Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb who played a key role in toning up BJP’s election machinery in the run up to the West Bengal assembly election held on April 23 and 29 arrived here this morning from Calcutta to a rousing welcome. The Tripura minister for Food and Civil Supply , Transport and Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury was one among more than two hundred party workers who had gone to the airport to receive Biplab Kumar Deb . As soon as he came out of the airport’s passenger lounge Biplab was garlanded by Sushanta Chowdhury and there were slogans raised in unison by BJP workers who had reached the airport on motor bikes. While Biplab remained seated in his car the motor bikes moved ahead with party workers carrying BJP flags in a jubilant mood . The procession ended in the North Gate area of Agartala and then Biplab Deb moved ahead in his vehicle towards Udaipur where he will offer ‘Puja’ in the temple of ‘Mata Tripureshwari’ for the resounding success achieved by BJP in the just-concluded elections to West Bengal state assembly.

Before leaving the airport, however, Biplab spoke to media persons to give a glimpse of his mind on the success achieved by BJP in West Bengal assembly polls. “It is good that BJP has come to power in West Bengal , otherwise many of our workers and supporters would have been murdered by the Trinamool goons across West Bengal; most unfortunate things would have happened there unless we could achieve victory in the polls ; this was possible on the strength of the inspiring leadership of our prime minister Modiji and Amit Shahji”said Biplab. Asked if he would be looking for a promotion now after success in West Bengal , Biplab said that he is a ‘faithful soldier’of the party and performs responsibilities given by the party. “Whatever assignment I am given , I try to do my best and will continue to do so as party is above all individuals ; we work under the inspiring leadership of Modiji and Amit Shahji for the party and this is reward enough for us” said Biplab. He also appealed to the workers and supporters of BJP in Tripura to remain dedicated to the policies , principles and directives of the party and work hard to keep the party flag aflutter here in this state also. Asked for his response to Trinamool secretary general Abhishek Banerjee’s derogatory comment on Amit Shah, Biplab said “ he is a lunatic and there is no need for reacting to his delirious comments ; the people of West Bengal have taught him a lesson and he should remember this”.
