Even amid mounting political controversy over the alleged distribution of more than 200 jobs through backdoor appointments in the Tipra Motha-led TTAADC administration ahead of the ADC elections, there has been no official decision so far to cancel the disputed appointments.

Sources claim that many recipients of the job offers have already started submitting their joining reports and related documents to the concerned departments of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), further deepening the controversy surrounding the recruitment process.

The issue has triggered sharp political reactions across Tripura. Opposition parties including CPI(M) and Congress have strongly alleged that the jobs were distributed secretly without proper interviews, transparent selection procedures, or public advertisements. Significantly, leaders of the ruling BJP have also raised objections against the alleged recruitment process inside the ADC administration.

A BJP delegation led by former MP Rebati Tripura had earlier met the Governor of Tripura demanding cancellation of the controversial appointment offers and seeking intervention into the matter. However, despite growing pressure from multiple political quarters, no effective administrative or legal action has yet been initiated regarding cancellation of the appointments.

Meanwhile, several appointment and posting-related office orders allegedly issued by the TTAADC administration have gone viral on social media, sparking widespread debate in political and public circles. One such office order reportedly shows acceptance of joining reports of newly appointed employees and instructions regarding their postings within ADC offices.

Political observers believe the controversy could become a major issue in the upcoming ADC elections, particularly in tribal areas where government employment remains a highly sensitive subject.

Opposition leaders have alleged that political compulsions are preventing stronger action against the Tipra Motha-led ADC administration. However, no official statement has yet been issued either by the Governor’s office or Tipra Motha leadership regarding possible cancellation of the disputed appointments.

As the controversy grows, attention is now focused on whether the state administration or constitutional authorities will initiate any inquiry into the alleged recruitment irregularities in the TTAADC.
