CRPF jawan electrocuted in Goala Basti area, shock and mourning

In a tragic incident a jawan of the CRPF was electrocuted yesterday in his rented house in Goalabasti area of Agartala. His name was Mithilesh Roy (33). Giving details police sources said that Mithilesh Roy got a massive electric shock when he had been working on power connection in his rented house. Even though he lay unconscious on the ground for a long time his family members noticed it late . He was taken to ILS hospital for treatment but the doctor on duty there declared him ‘dead on arrival’.

Sources said that the lifeless body of jawan Mthilesh Roy was later taken to GBP hospital for post-mortem in the morgue and it was brought back home. There were heart-wrenching scenes of crying and lamenting over his dead body by family members and finally his mortal remains were cremated. The people of Goalabasti area complained that the electrical wiring from the poles on roads to domestic spaces had been done in a very unscientific manner and this might have led to frequent incidents of short circuits from loose connections.
