At a time when the depredations of Christian missionaries in the form of their ‘soul harvesting’activities continue unabated in the hills of Tripura and the multiple ‘Jihadi’ programmes of the Muslim fundamentalists continue in various forms in the rest of the country, the launching of the ‘Sondariya Chinmay Mandir’and school in Mohanpur area , north of Agartala may turn out to be a significant milestone in defence of Tripura’s indigenous Hindu tradition and culture cutting across ethnic divides. The most significant aspect of the inauguration today is that it coincides with the celebration of the ‘Gariya Puja’of indigenous Hindus.
