Churaibari police rescue minor girl kidnapped by youth from Ratabari police station area under Sribhoomi (Karimganj) district of Assam

Pulling off a major success based on sophisticated technology and mobile tracking a team of Churaibari police station rescued a minor girl and arrested her abductor . Giving details police sources said that a minor girl , student of class IX , had been kidnapped by one Ashu Debnath (26), son of Abanti Debnath of Gambharia village under Ratabari police station in neighbouring Sribhoomi (formerly Karimganj ) district of Assam a few days. The minor girl’s name can not be disclosed for legal reasons but her father, a resident of Champli village under Churaibari police station, had filed a specific complaint.
Acting upon the complaint the Churaibari police station took help from the cyber cell of Tripura police that was finally able to track the offender Ashu Debnath in the Gambharia village under Ratabari police station in Sribhoomi district of Assam. A team of Churaibari police station left for Ratabari police station this morning and took help from the officers there. Finally the team raided the residence of culprit Ashu Debnath and found the kildnapped girl there. Having arrested Ashu Debnath the police brought both the nabbed persons and the girl back home.
Sources said that cases under several sections of BNS including POCSO, abduction and rape have been registered against nabbed Ashu Debnath and he is being produced in court today . The girl is still in a very traumatised condition and has been taken to Dharma Nagar hospital for medical check-up. After the check-up the girl’s statement will be recorded by police for filing a strong FIR against the culprit.
