Speculation grows over new CEM of ADC in Tripura, CK Jamatia may strong contender due to his extensive administrative experience

Speculation is intensifying over who will be appointed as the next Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC). Political observers and sections of the Tipra Motha leadership are increasingly suggesting that CK Jamatia may replace Purna Chandra Jamatia in the key position.

CK Jamatia, a recently retired IAS officer, is widely regarded as a strong contender due to his extensive administrative experience. Over the years, he has built a reputation as a capable and efficient administrator, having served as District Magistrate in multiple districts during the previous government. His tenure in these roles was marked by administrative foresight and a strong focus on public welfare.

His recent victory from the Maharani-Chelagang constituency in the ADC general elections, secured by a significant margin, is being viewed as more than just a political success. Analysts believe it reflects a strong public mandate in recognition of his long-standing service, integrity, and dedication.

Despite his distinguished career, there have been concerns in the past over the lack of due recognition for his contributions within the administrative framework.

Sources indicate that discussions within a large section of the Tipra Motha leadership and ADC administration are leaning in favour of CK Jamatia’s appointment as the next CEM.
